ABOUT ME
I’m Guy Phoenix, Owner and Group Managing Director of the Fresh Mango Technologies Group of Information Technology companies, with offices in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), Yorkshire (Leeds and Ripon) and Lithuania. He is also the owner of a digital marketing agency in the British Virgin Islands, and was a key advisor to several local companies in the aftermath of the catastrophic Hurricane Irma in 2017.
Guy holds a Joint BEng from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from Warwick Business School. He started his career with Rolls-Royce PLC as a software engineer, and progressed through several management roles in Rolls-Royce’s diverse industries and geographies. This included stints in Japan, South Africa and Brazil, finishing at Rolls-Royce with global client responsibility for the marine division.
He was an early-joiner of a dot-com company in the late nineties, and subsequently spent several years as commercial director for Alstom in the rail industry. He then took the plunge to become his own boss, buying a small generator distributor business which he grew for 5 years and exited in 2009.
Since then he has been based in the BVI, originally moving there to indulge his love of sailing. He founded his BVI marketing agency in 2010 and acquired a majority stake in the BVI IT company Fresh Mango Technologies two years later. He has grown the business organically and through the acquisition of CCS 2000 in Ripon in 2015 and IDT in Leeds in 2019. He became 100% Group shareholder in 2016. In 2020 CCS and IDT were merged to become Fresh Mango UK.
In recent years an additional focus for Guy and his IT businesses has been cyber security. Coupling this with his marketing expertise, he provides guidance to businesses on how to operate smoothly and securely in an online world.
In normal times Guy divides his time between the UK, the BVI, USA (especially Nashville where he is trying to learn to play the guitar). He also tries to attend at least one Formula One race every year. He relocated to the United Kingdom in January 2020.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
We work with small and medium sized businesses in Yorkshire. Typically they do not have in-house IT support of any kind. They contract us to take care of their IT systems completely – proactive maintenance and reactive support for any problems, under an SLA. We also supply, configure and install computer equipment at competitive prices for our clients.
